We currently use the Step One Survey as part of our screening procedure for hiring new applicants in all positions in every department of our business. As a result, we have experienced a dramatic decrease in turnover as well as a substantial decrease in employee theft, tardiness. and absenteeism. These improvements have no doubt translated into many dollars saved throughout the past year.
As you know, I recently used the ProfileXT to assist me in hiring a new general manager for the golf course. With the Profiles’ ability to help me generate a “bench mark” from which to identify the characteristics that I most desired in a general manager, I was able to identify the applicants that most closely matched the needs of the business. This process creates a unique opportunity to identify both the strengths and the weaknesses of an applicant so that you can have a candid discussion with an applicant about what will most likely be their greatest challenges in the position if they are hired. This process almost without fail resulted in constructive dialogue that otherwise would probably not have happened in an interview.
